At the first thought, choosing
the flowers for your wedding may seem a small insignificant
detail. But a big success lies in small details (like the
type and colour of the flowers, the arrangements). You can
handle the situation two ways: either you take care of it
yourself (especially if you're on a tight budget) or you hire
a wedding florist.
If you want to
do it yourself, you may consider the following florist tips:
1.Choose your
wedding date near a big ceremony (Christmas, Easter, etc)
so that the church is already decorated or you can have the
religious ceremony in a park which is already full of greenery
and flowers
2.Order wedding
flowers that don't easily wilt
3.Create your
own bouquet (your favorite flowers tied with
a ribbon will look just lovely)
4.Choose the
colour according to the general colour scheme
that you have in mind for your wedding.
But if you want
a specialist handling the situation, here are some tips to
help you pick the best florist:
1.Four or Five
months before the wedding ask your family or friends if they
can recommend someone
2.Visit several
wedding florists, ask about pricing or services and for references
from recent brides and grooms
3.Look the wedding
florist's previous work, ask to see the photo albums
4.Choose the
limit of your budget and tell the wedding florist a sum with
15% smaller, this way you won't get frustrated if somehow
he or she goes over budget (and if this doesn't happen, which
is quite rare, you'll save some money)
5.Don't be afraid
to tell him or her your idea of a bride's bouquet
or wedding flower's arrangement, but be receptive to any piece
of advice.
