Colors and Flowers

When couples choose their colors and flowers, generally they are colors and flowers that “look nice” together or the favorite colors and flowers of the betrothed. Well, if you are deciding between colors and flowers or haven't thought of them yet, here is a bit of information behind what colors and flowers mean. Maybe this can help your decision.

PS: While colors and flowers mean different things in different cultures, here are some general meanings of colors and flowers and their significance.

Colors :

1.Red – Represents boldness and fieriness. It also signifies a sense of life and vitality. Red colors is generally associated with celebrations and gifts.

2.Green – Most commonly stands for youth, life, and nature. Green colors can also represent victory and healing.

3.Blue and Indigo – Generally associated with loyalty and faithfulness. They are also associated with winners, as in “blue ribbon.” Blues and indigos colors also represent nobility, soulfulness, tranquility and intuition.

4.Purples, Lavenders and Violets – Signifies royalty and authority. They also represent creativity and inspiration.

5.Yellows and Golds – Represents Spring and peacefulness. These colors also represent visibility and awareness.

6.Whites and Silvers – Stand for peace. According to most myths, white was the color worn by the gods. These colors also represent intensity and protection. Silver especially represents encouragement and the removal of negativity.

7.Black – Signifies divine power. Although black colors generally has a negative connotation, there are some positive meanings associated with black. For instance, black represents expertise (as in a black belt karate expert). It can also stand for elegance, sophistication, constancy and wisdom.

8.Orange – Represents creativity, pleasure and illumination.

9.Pink – Associated with fidelity, love, sensuality, openness, gentleness, and harmony.

 

Just for Note that generally darker colors are worn in evening weddings and during the Fall and Winter seasons while lighter colors are worn in daytime weddings and during the Spring and Summer seasons.
